Parts of the Vertebra - Cervical
The vertebral bodies are relatively small in the cervical spine because there is less weight to carry when compared to the work of the spine in lower parts of the body. The joint surfaces are extensive however because the cervical spine has such an extensive range of movement compared to other parts of the spine.
